The Learning Design Professional II supports Humana Military’s provider engagement strategy by assisting in the design, development, and delivery of educational tools and resources. This role contributes to the creation and management of content across various platforms and supports initiatives that improve provider awareness and understanding of services across the East region.
The Learning Design Professional II applies foundational instructional design principles and adult learning theory to help address knowledge and performance gaps among healthcare providers. Assignments may range from routine to moderately complex and require collaboration with team members, evaluation of educational needs, and effective communication. The ideal candidate will assist senior team members in developing content that aligns with the strategic goals and resonates with provider audiences.
Key Accountabilities
Content Development and Design
- Assist in the development of educational materials (e.g., webinars, manuals, newsletters) tailored to provider audiences.
- Write scripts, storyboards, and training manuals by applying educational and instructional design best practices.
- Apply basic adult learning principles to help build interactive and engaging learning experiences in collaboration with senior designers.
Needs Analysis and Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather input on provider knowledge gaps and support prioritization of training needs.
- Assist with performance and learning needs analyses to align education efforts with Humana Military goals.
- Support strategic planning efforts by providing input and background research for provider engagement initiatives in the East Region.
Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to tracking training effectiveness through data collection, feedback, and reporting.
- Support analysis of training outcomes to inform content updates and engagement improvements.
- Assist in maintaining and updating existing resources to ensure they remain current, accurate, and relevant.
Collaboration and Guidance
- Work with operations teams to support consistency in training and communication efforts.
- Assist in providing learning support and guidance to cross-functional teams under the direction of senior staff.
- Help coordinate with external vendors or facilitators as directed, ensuring smooth development and delivery of training materials.
Platform and Technology Management
- Support the use and maintenance of learning management systems and digital delivery platforms by uploading content, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting basic issues.
- Use collaborative tools and multimedia platforms to contribute to engaging and accessible learning experiences.
- Leverage social learning methods and interactive technology, with guidance, to help expand training reach and usability.

Required Qualifications
- Our Department of Defense contract requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (NBIS - National Background Investigation Services).
- HGB is not authorized to do work in Puerto Rico per our government contract.
- We are not able to hire candidates that are currently living in Puerto Rico.
- Must live in the Eastern time zone.
- 2 years of experience in instructional design, adult learning, or educational content development.
- Experience assisting in the creation and delivery of learning solutions, in a consumer-facing or regulated industry (e.g. healthcare, finance, insurance, or government, etc).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience working in a healthcare, managed care, or TRICARE setting.
- Familiarity with provider engagement strategies or military healthcare systems.
- Exposure with digital learning platforms, multimedia tools, and/or provider communications.
