Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, including experience managing mechanical component and assembly sourcing and procurement
  • Effective management of component sourcing within a manufacturing environment; RFP/RFQ, supplier selection, project execution, cost and timing management, and project close activities
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional team leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level; strong preference for spoken and written Mandarin proficiency
  • Strong analytical, research, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel globally up to 25%
  • Previous experience working with contract manufacturers, domestic and offshore
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines; able to balance short-term, urgent needs with long-term strategic initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with key stakeholders within the Engineering and Product Development organization
  • Familiarity with cross-functional team project management
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve complex operational challenges
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Understanding of various sourcing agreements and contracts
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to develop and implement a well-thought-out sourcing strategy

Responsibilities

  • Drive the sourcing and supplier selection process for mechanical components and assemblies to support Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies that support existing platforms and new product development
  • Develop and implement supply continuity plans for critical components
  • Assess market conditions, identify industry best practices and emerging trends to identify new cost reduction and value creation opportunities
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to find, assess, and select suppliers that will improve value to the organization and help attain targeted business results
  • Negotiate and implement appropriate contracts with suppliers
  • Establish and implement procurement policies with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and cost improvements including KPIs and scorecards
  • Relationship management, market intelligence on potential suppliers, monitoring vendor deliverables and schedules
  • Communicate the demand forecast as necessary to ensure supply continuity and capacity availability
  • Analysis of technical and business risks and development strategies for mitigation
  • Interface with product development, operations, business development, and other groups to ensure key supply chain partners’ performance is well aligned to the needs of the business
  • Own the coordination of team project deliverables and innovate best practices that drive continuous improvements in product commercialization
