Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering, or a related field, and have a minimum of 8 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain. Expert knowledge of industrial automation components and suppliers, advanced analytics skills with proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools, and the ability to interpret engineering BOMs and technical prints are essential. Familiarity with Teamcenter is a plus, and proven experience in negotiating and managing multi-million dollar spend with suppliers is required. The ability to build processes and workflows from scratch is also necessary.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will develop and execute sourcing strategies for Tier II spend categories, focusing on industrial automation components, and manage all Tier II supplier contracts and long-term agreements. Responsibilities include aggregating usage data for accurate forecasting, leading supplier negotiations to secure optimal pricing and terms, and supporting global manufacturing strategies while considering geopolitical risks. The role involves identifying, evaluating, and onboarding alternative suppliers, collaborating with engineering on new product introductions to select sources and negotiate agreements before launch, and staying current on relevant emerging technologies. Additionally, the manager will partner with direct suppliers to align Tier II sourcing strategies, conduct cost/benefit and risk analyses, and monitor supplier performance, driving corrective actions as needed.
