Requirements

Candidates must possess a Security+ CE Certification and have at least 3 years of IT support experience in a desktop support or similar role. A strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Office 365, and common IT support tools is required, along with experience in Active Directory, group policy management, and network troubleshooting. Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills are essential, while an Active Secret Clearance or previous DOD experience is preferred. Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Remedy, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, are also advantageous.

Responsibilities

The Senior Desktop Support Specialist will provide advanced desktop support for hardware, software, and network-related issues. They will troubleshoot and resolve system errors, performance issues, and connectivity problems. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripherals, while supporting operating systems, applications, and security software in compliance with company policies. The specialist will respond to and resolve escalated tickets from junior support staff and maintain detailed documentation of incidents, resolutions, and support activities. Additionally, they will assist with user account management, coordinate with IT teams for upgrades and new technologies, ensure compliance with DOD security standards, and train and mentor junior IT support staff as needed.
