Requirements

Candidates must have over 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field. They should possess strong expertise in SQL and data modeling, proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. Hands-on experience with distributed data systems (Spark, Kafka, Flink, or similar) and knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices are also required. Preferred qualifications include experience building data platforms at scale, familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code, and exposure to machine learning workflows and MLOps practices.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and building robust data models and warehouses. They will implement data quality checks, monitoring, and governance frameworks, and work closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to ensure smooth data flow. This role involves providing technical mentorship to junior engineers, partnering with product and business stakeholders, and optimizing database queries and data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency. Additionally, the engineer will ensure the high availability and reliability of data infrastructure and stay updated with emerging data engineering technologies.
