Requirements

Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) such as Terraform and automated deployments such as GitHub Actions. The role requires the ability to set DataOps strategy, architect at scale across cloud and on-prem environments, and standardize the platform by authoring Terraform modules, orchestration templates, and hardened container images. Advanced observability skills, incident management experience, and the ability to mentor and influence other engineers are also essential. Cross-team collaboration with Security, Compliance, and Operations is expected.

Responsibilities

The Staff Data Operations Engineer will define and drive the adoption of CI/CD frameworks, infrastructure-as-code, and automation patterns for data platforms. This role involves leading multi-quarter initiatives to improve the reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency of data systems. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining data observability standards, partnering with product and data teams to define and track SLIs/SLOs, and mentoring senior and mid-level DevOps and Data Engineers. The engineer will also represent DataOps in executive reviews, translate data reliability risks into business impact, act as incident commander for major data outages, and run blameless postmortems.
