Senior Data & Analytics Lead

Employment Type: Full-Time Location Type: Hybrid

Position Overview

The simple task of buying software, services, or tools at work has become hopelessly complicated at even the most innovative companies in the world. Today, enterprises spend $120T+ per year globally (>30 times larger than annual consumer e-commerce spend) and rely on vendors more than ever before to run their businesses.

Our cofounders started Zip in 2020 to address this seemingly intractable problem with a purpose-built procurement platform that provides a simple, consumer-grade user experience. Within the last 4 years, Zip has created a new category and developed the leading solution in this $50B+ TAM space. Today, the world’s leading companies like OpenAI, Snowflake, Anthropic, Coinbase, and Prudential rely on Zip to manage billions of dollars in spend.

We have a world-class team coming from category-defining companies like Airbnb, Meta, Stripe, Salesforce, Apple, and Google. With a $2.2 billion valuation and $370 million in funding from Y Combinator, Tiger Global, BOND, DST Global, and CRV, we’re focused on developing cutting-edge technology, expanding into new global markets, and—above all–driving incredible value for our customers. • Proactive Insight & Recommendation Generation: Deliver predictive and prescriptive analytics, identifying and interpreting financial trends and anomalies to provide data-backed recommendations to leadership.
  • Financial Data Architecture Oversight: Define and refine financial data analytics architecture. Collaborate with data engineering to specify requirements for robust and accurate data flows.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a key analytical partner to Finance, FP&A, and other business units, translating their needs into impactful data solutions and fostering data-driven decision-making.
  • Insightful Data Visualization: Champion and create compelling, interactive dashboards and executive reports, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights on performance and KPIs.
  • Financial Systems & Process Enhancement: Drive improvements in financial reporting and analytical capabilities through advanced analytics, automation, and new technologies.
  • AI-Driven Financial Analytics (Optional): Explore and implement advanced techniques (statistical modeling, ML) to enhance forecasting, anomaly detection, and financial risk assessment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field, ideally within a B2B SaaS or GTM org.
  • Experience: 5+ years in analytical roles (finance, BI, data science/engineering) focused on complex financial data & modeling.
  • SQL Mastery: Expert SQL skills for complex data manipulation, financial modeling, and metric calculation.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication: Translates complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for all audiences, including executives.

About Zip

Zip Co offers buy now, pay later (BNPL) services that allow consumers to make purchases and pay for them over time without interest. Its main products, Zip Pay and Zip Money, cater to different spending needs, with Zip Pay for everyday purchases and Zip Money for larger expenses. Unlike many competitors, Zip focuses on providing flexible payment options and a straightforward fee structure, generating revenue through merchant fees, late fees, and interest on select products. The company's goal is to simplify the purchasing process for consumers while expanding its market presence across various countries.
