This position is based at our Cologne site (Abbott Rapid Diagnostics GmbH) within the Infectious Diseases division and will be responsible for the Frankfurt/Mainz region. Our point-of-care diagnostics portfolio includes key health and therapy areas, including infectious diseases, cardiometabolic, informatics, and toxicology. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions, from heart attacks and blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancer. Our rapid diagnostic solutions help address some of the world's greatest healthcare challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for sales targets and commercial planning to achieve performance goals.
  • Market and customer development (especially new customers) and general customer support in various task areas.
  • Responsibility for the development and implementation of the Abbott RDx ID product portfolio within the division.
  • Preparing offers for customers and concluding contracts.
  • Monitoring and reporting on competitive activities.
  • Conducting product training and implementations in the region.
  • Participation in conferences, exhibitions, etc. at national and international levels is expected.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration or Natural Sciences, alternatively a medical qualification or equivalent professional experience in diagnostics.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong persuasive ability and capacity to build sustainable interpersonal relationships.
  • Results-oriented, structured, and resilient.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and customer orientation.
  • Team player with a high degree of initiative, energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent organizational, moderation, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Willingness to travel (70-80%).
  • Fluent German and very good English skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the medical device industry, pharmaceutical industry, or a similar field.
  • Detailed understanding of the sales/secondary care market.
  • Initiative, flexibility, and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence results.
  • Flexible self-starter with the ability to work resiliently in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to articulate problems and business opportunities with relevant customers to secure long-term strategic business with nationally important customers.
