The position requires an account executive who is a skilled communicator in first engagements and discovery calls, analyzing prospect needs to qualify opportunities. They must be highly proficient in understanding and presenting the value of SailPoint solutions compared to competitors like Microsoft, Okta, and Saviynt. The role demands the ability to provide a superior customer experience, competitively position solutions and value propositions, and lead virtual teams including partner resources, presales, partner managers, deal desk, professional services, BVA teams, and customer success. The candidate must not operate independently but sell as a team, acting as a quarterback, taking initiative, and preparing the team for calls. They need to make good decisions about engagement and accountability, create territory or opportunity plans, and work closely with the leadership team to refine sales strategy.
The Account Executive will exceed revenue quota goals quarterly and yearly. They will effectively address customer and partner inquiries with accurate information and tailored solutions. Responsibilities include developing business plans aligned to the assigned territory, strategically engaging with customers and partners to maintain high customer service, and collaborating with marketing on plans through/with partners and end users. The role involves pursuing all supplied leads, ensuring internal systems are updated, leading technical resources to demonstrate SailPoint's advantages, and following up with customers and partners post-sale to ensure ongoing account coverage and new sales opportunities. The Account Executive will own and oversee all aspects of the sales cycle, including qualifying, presentations, demonstrations, RFP responses, negotiations, and closing. They must foster a deep understanding of the territory, including customers, prospects, partners, influencers, and competitors, and understand/communicate competitive and complementary product and technological strategies. The role requires effectively initiating, navigating, and managing discussions across all levels of a customer's organization and utilizing all channel management and reporting tools, including accurate forecasting and Salesforce.
