Candidates must have at least 9 months of experience in a sales or lead generation role within a high-tech or SaaS company. Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally, are essential. Candidates should be collaborative, coachable, and eager to improve their skills. The ability to handle rejection and remain persistent is required, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. A basic understanding of a standard SaaS seller's technical stack, including CRM and Prospect Research tools, is necessary. Excellent time management, process, and prioritization skills are also required, with preferred experience in Cloud or Security sales.
The Sales Development Representative will build a revenue pipeline by setting introductory meetings with potential businesses and key decision makers. They will respond diligently to inbound inquiries and assess potential product fit. The role involves influencing Baseten's product roadmap based on customer and prospect feedback. Additionally, the representative will identify high-potential businesses and verticals while developing and executing outbound strategies to engage them. Staying informed on market trends, competition, and industry developments is crucial, as is managing and documenting the progression of the sales pipeline. They will also drive pre- and post-engagement at industry events, attending multiple events in person.
