Requirements

  • Must be local to MA, ME, NH, RI, or VT
  • Attention to detail and relentless organization to manage complexities of up to 100 MBTA stations
  • Strong communication skills to interface with diverse stakeholders (construction, architecture, accessibility, safety, transit operations, IT, user experience)
  • Ability to write clearly and communicate ideas creatively to different audiences
  • Minimum formal education (incomplete in description, but required)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as TID’s subject matter expert for stations: join consultant on site visits, become intimately familiar with each station
  • Review consultant plans and provide critical assessments of proposed locations for digital screens, speakers, wiring paths, and more
  • Interface with internal MBTA departments (electrical, signals/communication, safety, accessibility, etc.) to ensure all requirements are considered
  • Manage the consultant’s work: coordinate weekly meetings, keep records, log key decisions
  • Lead knowledge management for document-heavy project (plansets, transmittals, changelogs for each station)
  • Identify risks to project scope and timeline, advocate for prioritization of critical path work
  • Build and maintain relationships with key MBTA departments in the project’s working group
  • Coordinate periodic meetings and provide regular updates for alignment and transparency
  • Understand and collate stakeholders’ needs, representing them to the consultant continuously
