Participation in tooling/process improvement trials (DOE, nonconformance investigations, RCAs, CAPA)
Ability to assign duties to shift members, ensure production goals are met, provide technical leadership (line setup/operation, metrics, testing, troubleshooting, training)
Handle attendance, vacation schedules, training, and administrative tasks
Ensure optimum utilization of manpower and equipment for efficient workflow
Administer on-the-job training to new employees and provide continuous training
Lead the Extruder Operator Training Program
Motivate and assist employees on extrusion lines
Knowledge of extrusion equipment, safety devices, tooling, hand tools for efficient high-quality production of vinyl siding/accessories
Understanding of specifications/requirements (gauge, cartons, profiles, packaging, tooling)
Monitor production schedule, arrange info for line operators on product changes, troubleshoot/monitor extrusion lines
Perform all product/tooling setups using proper procedures
Assist with color changes, roll changes, screen changes
Operate extrusion line if needed in absence of regular operator
Monitor/increase regrind usage on lines
Assume Production Supervisor role in their absence
Promote Lean/TPM mindset, identify/eliminate waste (DOWNTIME, Six Big Losses), improve OEE
Improve line performance (reduce small stops/speed loss, run at standard PVC/ASA parameters)
Improve line availability (reduce setup times for changeovers using SMED, VSM, lean tools)
