Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience with hand tools (crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools, air tools)
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics (desired)
  • Ability to solder
  • Good manual dexterity and basic computer operation skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to frequently use hand tools
  • Ability to sit for long periods and occasionally stand for short periods
  • Ability to lift and/or carry objects of small size (2lbs - 5lbs)
  • Ability to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Ability to walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Specific vision abilities (close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus)

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical assembly of subassemblies using hand and/or power tools
  • Final assembly of ground control equipment and air vehicles
  • Testing and troubleshooting of subassemblies and final assemblies
  • Work with other Production Technicians and Engineering to correct and improve assembly process documents
  • Work with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly efficiency, product quality, and reduce manufacturing costs
  • Ensure work order protocols are followed and paperwork is completed
  • May train other technicians on assembly processes
  • Conduct in-process quality checks
  • Follow established procedures on routine work
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Apply acquired job skills, company policies, and procedures to complete assigned tasks
  • Work with engineering on new product development efforts
  • Take ownership and responsibility for work products
  • Excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Focus on teamwork and collaboration
