Requirements

  • Associate degree OR two-year technical degree in engineering or related field (Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • 2+ years of industrial sales experience within industrial automation products and solutions (experience selling custom control panels preferred; experience selling Siemens and/or Eaton automation products is a plus)
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing
  • Occasional out-of-town travel required
  • Strong business, creative, and technical writing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to multitask

Responsibilities

  • Identify new sales opportunities and follow up on new leads
  • Maintain detailed information on projects, quotes, samples, and any other sales-related information
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers at multiple levels, including engineering, purchasing, quality, and senior management
  • Attend and conduct business at trade shows
  • Sustain long-term relationships with key individuals in key accounts
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet websites, and other sources
  • Work with the Inside Sales Team Customer Service Representatives to facilitate customer requirements
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries
  • Generate new business along with maintaining and building relationships with existing customers
  • Be involved with the full sales cycle, calling on all buying influences including engineering, purchasing, quality assurance, as well as senior management to generate opportunities and present pricing proposals
