Requirements

Candidates must have over 4 years of experience in merchandising, sourcing, e-commerce, or other customer-facing roles within a mechanical supplier or distributor, demonstrating deep product knowledge. Expertise in mechanical products and advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, or macros, are essential. The ability to balance speed and accuracy, deliver and receive feedback, and a track record of continuous improvement in customer experience are required. Experience correcting and improving e-commerce item descriptions and working with clients on custom items is also necessary. Familiarity with ERP, PIM, or procurement systems and basic SQL or BI tool experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Merchandising Specialist will revise the existing catalog structure to meet industry standards and refine a generics catalog to improve customer search, sourcing, and analytics. They will develop the product taxonomy to meet industry standards and unblock product development, and continuously adjust linked and related items to build improved procurement workflows. This role involves collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams as a mechanical products expert and serving as the voice of the customer for mechanical product categorization and descriptions.
