Data Scientist

Position Overview

Kalshi is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our growing data team. As a Data Scientist at Kalshi, you will be deeply embedded within cross-functional teams, contributing to critical decisions across Product, Finance, Marketing, and Platform. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and technical skills, business acumen, and a collaborative spirit to drive decision-making and identify growth opportunities. You will tackle diverse challenges, from understanding user behavior and optimizing revenue to enhancing internal tools and shaping product direction through experimentation and data modeling.

This is a full-time position based in our NYC office.

Our tech stack includes:

• Data Analytics & Pipelining: Python, SQL, DBT
• Machine Learning & Visualization: Superset, Dagster, Hex
• Cloud Platforms: AWS for scalable data storage and computation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and measure key metrics, design experiments, and uncover insights to inform strategic decisions.
• Build models and analytical frameworks to support Product, Marketing, Platform, or Finance initiatives.
• Develop tools, datasets, and systems to enhance data accessibility and rigor for others.
• Own complex data projects end-to-end, from initial problem scoping to final solution delivery.
• Champion data quality, accessibility, and the democratization of data across the organization.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Sales, Marketing, or Finance teams to drive impact.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Fluency in SQL and proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or R.
• Experience with distributed data systems (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, Presto, Hive, Spark).
• Strong foundation in statistical methods, experimentation, and/or forecasting.
• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience supporting one or more of the following areas: Product, Marketing, Finance, or internal Platform/Tooling teams.
