Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience. Prior experience in a union environment and demonstrated ability to build and develop future leaders are essential. Experience balancing production needs with product quality is also required. An Engineering degree, prior food or pet manufacturing experience, and experience building high-performance work cultures are considered advantageous.
The Operations Manager will lead a team of technicians and managers to meet safety, sanitation, and quality standards. Responsibilities include managing and developing manufacturing systems to increase productivity and lower costs, facilitating continuous improvement, and managing employee and labor relations. The role involves developing a vision for an effective work system, overseeing production scheduling and training, communicating business information, tracking KPIs, partnering with other functions for timely delivery of materials, managing the operational budget, and owning an Operational Excellence Pillar. The manager will also ensure employees understand the operation's vision and goals and develop leaders for the future.
