Position Overview

CrowdStrike is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join our production network leadership team. As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects modern organizations with its advanced AI-native platform. We operate at a massive scale, processing trillions of events daily across diverse industries. This role is crucial for defining metrics, developing tools, and creating innovative approaches to enhance our network monitoring and operations, with a strong focus on scaling and performance in hybrid cloud environments.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and operating hyper-scale hybrid cloud networks. You will be instrumental in improving the reliability and efficiency of our network, contributing to a high-performance, fault-tolerant, and scalable infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Set the direction for and improve the reliability and efficiency of the network.
• Contribute to maintaining a high-performance, fault-tolerant, and scalable network.
• Develop, track, and report on KPIs and metrics measuring network capacity, performance, and availability.
• Build tools and monitoring systems for granular, real-time observability.
• Develop automation to continuously assess and detect suboptimal network states and identify potential failure points.
• Review designs and traffic patterns to continually assess network capacity and availability.
• Collaborate with other engineering groups to implement improvements.
• Lead the resolution of network incidents, conduct post-mortems, perform root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Diagnose and solve complex network and application problems, recommending improvements.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

What You’ll Need

• United States Citizenship OR Permanent Residency is necessary to retain access to resources for this role (No Clearance necessary).
• 7+ years of experience deploying and managing network infrastructure.
• Experience leading a sustaining engineering or SRE team.
• 7+ years of experience working with network protocols such as BGP, MPLS (TE, Auto-BW), VxLAN, eVPN, and CLOS Architectures.
• Experience building and maintaining network monitoring and graphing tools, as well as streaming telemetry.
• Programming experience in Python, Perl, Go, or other scripting languages.
• Experience with Cloud Providers such as AWS and GCP.

Bonus Points

• Strong track record of developing and improving tools, platforms, and infrastructure.
• Experience with network simulation and testing tools (NS-3, NetSim, Batfish, Ixia).
• Production-level experience supporting large-scale network infrastructure.
• Experience in automating systems to reduce operational toil.

Additional Requirements

• This role will require the candidate to periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements.
