Requirements

  • Valid Property and Casualty Insurance Agent License
  • Insurance Agent II - minimum of 3 years of insurance agent experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer proficiency (use of CRM software, email, and quoting tools)
  • Knowledge of insurance products and regulations
  • Experience quoting, selling, servicing Personal Lines Insurance Products
  • Familiarity with many personal lines insurance carriers, products and their underwriting process
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written, to explain policies clearly)
  • Customer service skills (ability to build trust and maintain relationships)
  • Sales skills (persuasive and goal-oriented, with knowledge of sales techniques)
  • Organizational skills (manage multiple clients, documents, and deadlines)
  • Attention to detail (ensure accuracy in applications and compliance documents)
  • Problem-solving ability (assist clients with claims and policy issues)
  • Preferred: Previous sales or customer service experience
  • Work at least 40 hours per week from one of our NerdWallet offices in New York or Phoenix, or a hybrid model (minimum 3 days weekly)
  • Utilizing hybrid working software for internal communications (e.g., Google Docs, Zoom, Slack) and company provided laptop

Responsibilities

  • Assist NerdWallet customers with quoting, comparing, and binding insurance products available in our carrier market
  • Assist with servicing newly bound policies and cross-sell other essential products customers may need
  • Help individuals and businesses find the right insurance coverage to meet their needs
  • Assess client needs, explain policy options, assist with applications, and manage policy renewals
  • Provide support during claims
  • Ensure compliance with insurance laws and regulations
  • Handle sales and marketing to attract new clients
  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments to determine insurance requirements and evaluate potential risks
  • Recommend suitable insurance products including, but not limited to, auto, home, life, and health
  • Provide clear and concise explanations of policy terms, coverage limits, and premium costs
  • Prepare and submit insurance applications and associated documentation in accordance with established procedures
  • Manage and facilitate the renewal of client policies as required
  • Offer support to clients throughout the claims process and maintain ongoing customer service
  • Remain informed of current insurance products, legislation, and regulatory compliance mandates
  • Conduct daily client consultations and interactions
  • Provide policy quotes and comparative analyses
  • Complete and process insurance applications
  • Conduct follow-up activities for leads, renewals, and claims
  • Adhere to all licensing and regulatory standards
  • Engage in continuous professional development and product training
  • Consistently achieve sales targets for insurance policies
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of client information and application processing
  • Maintain a high rate of client retention and successful policy renewals
  • Submit regular reports on sales performance and other relevant metrics
