Candidates must possess a Property & Casualty/or All Lines Adjuster License in their home state and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Some college education is helpful, and preferred professional designations include AIC, ARM, or AINS. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in handling first and third-party property & casualty claims or agency/brokerage claims advocacy/risk management is required, along with strong commercial/personal lines multi-line claim handling experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and insurance agency management software like EPIC or AMS360 is essential, as is strong experience in risk management, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The Director of Insurance Claims will oversee, monitor, report on, and facilitate the resolution and settlement of claims for clients with revenues exceeding $50K, focusing on those in the PST time zone. This role involves coordinating the reporting and advocacy of commercial property and casualty insurance claims, conducting coverage review and analysis, preparing coverage reconsideration requests, and scheduling quarterly Claims Strategy Discussions. The Director will maintain client contacts, analyze loss data for claims metrics, provide guidance on claims for property, general liability, workers compensation, and professional liability, identify and address potential coverage issues, and interpret policy terms. They will also review and develop responses to Reservation of Rights and Coverage Declinations, review Proof of Losses and Statements of Losses for both personal and commercial lines, and monitor carrier investigations, evaluations, and settlements. The Director will review reserving accuracy, monitor claim payments, assist customers with claim statuses and settlement offers, resolve coverage questions, collaborate on claims strategy, and directly monitor select litigated claims, including oversight of defense counsel. This position requires interaction with clients, carrier/TPA adjusters, independent adjusters, public adjusters, experts, and internal team members, as well as timely problem identification and resolution.
