Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in a full-cycle, closing sales role with a proven track record of consistent quota over-achievement in complex accounts and $25k+ ARR transactions. Experience in enterprise value-based solution selling and familiarity with project-based selling methodologies like MEDDPICC is required. Extensive knowledge of the modern data ecosystem, including ETL, data warehouses, and business intelligence tools, is a plus. Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
The Founding Account Executive will develop customer relationships within commercial and mid-market territory accounts and effectively manage inbound leads. They will build their own pipeline through networking, industry events, and outbound prospecting while owning customer engagements from prospecting to close. The role involves determining customer requirements and presenting appropriate solutions using a clear sales framework. Additionally, the Account Executive will partner with internal stakeholders to refine Select Star’s positioning and messaging and manage activity and pipeline in Salesforce for accurate reporting.

This is particularly advantageous for data analysts, who can learn to navigate and discover data independently in less than a month, significantly faster than the typical 3-4 months. Additionally, Select Star offers data governance services, giving businesses insight into their current data models, including user access and necessary classifications or remodels. Operating on a business-to-business (B2B) model, Select Star likely generates revenue through subscription fees for its services.
