Tonic.ai is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to assist its largest and most sophisticated customers in solving their data challenges. This role involves implementing Tonic.ai applications, developing custom solutions, integrating into customer automation pipelines, establishing processes, and providing user enablement. The FDE will also handle custom application development and collaborate with core product teams to add necessary functionality. This position offers significant growth potential for an ambitious individual at a fast-growing startup.

Requirements

• Engineering Background: Strong background in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a technical customer-facing role (e.g., Sales Engineer, Technical Customer Success, Software Implementation Consultant, Forward Deployed Engineer).
• Technical Skills:
  • Database, data warehouse, data lake, cloud, data catalog, data engineering/pipelines, and BI experience.
  • Experience integrating applications with third-party APIs.
• Problem-Solving: Solution-oriented mindset capable of integrating Tonic.ai products into various architectures.
• Programming Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar.
• Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational Skills: Organized, a problem solver, and excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Project Execution: Own execution and on-time delivery of end-to-end projects for high-value customers, in partnership with the broader Tonic.ai account team.
• Application Deployment: Deploy onto Customer team(s) to implement and operationalize Tonic.ai applications as part of an end-to-end solution.
• Sales & Solutions Support: Collaborate with the Sales and Solutions Architect teams to validate the scope of Professional Services engagements and assist in writing statements of work.
• Process Improvement: Assist in defining parameters for Professional Services work at Tonic.ai and contribute to process and documentation improvement initiatives.
• Product Collaboration: Liaise with Product and Engineering teams to support existing projects and/or provide feedback on the core Tonic.ai platform.
• Travel: Travel up to 25% of the time to customer sites.
