Requirements

  • Member of local leadership management team overseeing 1 to 3 Distribution Centers (DCs) in a $700 million to $2 billion business Area
  • Ability to serve as key business partner to Area President and cross-functional leaders (VP Sales, VP Operations, HR Leader, Pricing Director, VP Merchandising)
  • Strong financial acumen to understand results, integrate financial lens, and drive Key Results
  • Capability to collaborate, align with Area leaders, execute financial strategy, and drive operational improvements impacting financial outcomes
  • Skill in influencing others by summarizing/articulating financial insights for actionable steps
  • Experience leading development and communication of financial forecasts, ensuring delivery
  • Courage to challenge perspectives, offer alternatives, and make difficult decisions

Responsibilities

  • Own execution of Area finance strategy
  • Advise on long-term business financial and strategic planning to Area President and functional leaders, aligned with Company Long Range Plan (LRP)
  • Collaborate with functional partners to drive improved financial results and support strategic initiatives
  • Assess financial performance and initiate strategic actions to drive results
  • Develop financial targets/outcomes based on key operational drivers and support with Area Leadership Team
  • Own P&L management through strategic decisions to manage costs and improve efficiencies
  • Provide visibility and guidance to Area leadership team on meeting financial outcomes
  • Demonstrate analytical foresight for immediate decisions impacting business future
  • Partner with Controller’s Group, FP&A, Finance Support Team, and Region VP of Finance for timely/accurate financial reports
  • Own and coordinate annual business planning and monthly forecasts with Area functional leaders
  • Act as gatekeeper for financial processes, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Build relationships, establish credibility/trust with Area leaders by understanding needs/pain points
  • Operate as business partner with end-to-end value chain perspective, business acumen, and independent viewpoint
  • Serve as ultimate source of truth for financial data, with analytical data ready for discussions/decisions
  • Be resourceful leveraging tools/information as trusted financial advisor
  • Review balance sheet health quarterly with corporate stakeholders
  • Lead financial acumen training for Area and DC management
  • Collaborate/influence Area leaders to understand financial complexities and make sound decisions
  • Identify opportunities for gross profit improvement and cost management, driving accountability
  • Drive profitable sales growth by reviewing, guiding, and approving local customer contracts and incentive agreements
