About ClassDojo

ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love. We started by building a powerful network for communication. ClassDojo’s flagship app is the #1 communication app connecting K-12 teachers, children, and families globally. Teachers use it to share what’s happening throughout the day through photos, videos, and messages that make parents feel like they’re there. It’s actively used in over 95% of US schools, reaching over 45 million children in 180 countries, with a team of just around 200 people. We are now beginning to use this network to give kids the best learning experiences in the world, far beyond those a standard school can provide.

Our Team

We hire for talent density. Our team comprises the most talented, entrepreneurial, and innovative teammates from around the world, with experience in education and large scale consumer internet companies, including Instagram, Netflix, Dropbox, Stripe, Uber, Y Combinator, and more. We’re building a company where the most talented people want to work. We believe you’ll do the best work of your life here—and you’ll pioneer the future of education, too.

What You'll Do

As the leader of Corporate Finance at ClassDojo, you’ll own and scale the core financial systems and models as well as planning processes that enable ClassDojo’s long-term profitable growth. You’ll be a critical advisor to ClassDojo and our executive team, providing financial insights that shape our long-term trajectory. This is a critical, high-impact role that sits at the center of company-wide financial decision-making—spanning capital allocation decisions, forecasting, budgeting (particularly headcount planning), cost optimization, and board reporting. Additionally, given the multitude of businesses being built on top of our network, you’ll likely have a chance to act as the direct finance partner for several executives and GMs, and go deep within 1-2 segments where there is mutual interest and business need.

You’ll work directly with the CFO, Controller, Revenue Finance leader, and ClassDojo’s executive leadership team. This role will report directly to the CFO and over time will be responsible for building the Corporate Finance team within ClassDojo.

You Will Be a Match If

  • 12+ years of experience, including 3+ years leading corporate finance in a high-growth, venture-backed technology company of meaningful scale (e.g. $100M+ revenue, 250+ employees, multiple business units / product lines)
  • Full ownership of bottoms-up, consolidated financial models; strong analytical and direct Excel modeling skills as well as experience implementing comprehensive models within modern, AI-enabled FP&A systems (Pigment, Causal, etc.)
  • Experience working with leaders across different functions (G&A, R&D, GTM) on budgeting, investment reviews, and long-term planning; demonstrated sound judgement, strategic mindset, and ability to influence decisions within the context of these relationships.
  • Strong understanding of different business models, including SaaS, marketplaces, and usage-based / transactional (particularly within gaming), at both analytical and strategic levels.
  • Strong bias towards automation, process efficiencies, and implementation of emerging AI-enabled tools; demonstrated scrappiness and ability to deliver results in a lean setting.

You Might Be a Good Fit If

  • Prior experience in investment banking, consulting, or investing (VC, PE)
  • Experience hiring and managing Corporate Finance team members
  • Hands-on involvement in capital allocation, M&A, fundraising, or board / investor relations
  • Technical or analytical degree (CS, Economics, Math, Engineering)
