A minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is expected. Willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned area (Madrid, Iberia) is mandatory.
The Field Service Engineer will provide best-in-class customer experiences by performing on-site systems and instrument installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues. They will collaborate with service and commercial colleagues to enhance customer service and support business growth. Key duties include performing preventative maintenance, hardware and software upgrades, and repair interventions on molecular instrumentation. Responsibilities also involve troubleshooting applications and instrumentation via phone and on-site, logging complaints, and tracking them in call management systems. The role includes providing on-site customer support for software and hardware upgrade training, close cooperation with Application Support Specialists and the Commercial team, and actively participating in Abbott Molecular meetings. This position involves providing primary service and support to the defined territory, offering back-up support outside the territory as needed, and maintaining personal tools, accessories, and spare parts inventory kits. Reporting to Service Management, including spare part usage, and representing Abbott professionally are also key responsibilities.
