The Field Service Engineer is responsible for ensuring Alcon equipment at customer sites and for demos functions effectively, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing surgical equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and managing installations and upgrades. This role involves identifying and correcting complex problems, researching and recommending equipment upgrades, developing customer relationships for future business, and instructing clients on equipment usage. Responsibilities also include documenting service logs, preparing reports, escalating issues to engineering teams, managing daily schedules and communications, and adhering to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by following SOPs and maintaining accurate documentation.
