What We Need

The On-Site Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional leaders across design, engineering, supply chain, finance, installation, commissioning, testing, operations, suppliers, and customers to plan and implement automation solutions at client sites. The primary goal is to ensure team alignment, effective plan execution, efficient issue/risk management, and clear communication for the successful execution of technical projects. This is a highly visible role involving interaction with all departments and levels within the company, as well as customers and Symbotic’s executive management.

This is a remote, travel-based position. For this remote role, we are seeking a candidate centrally located to facilitate sufficient on-site collaboration with current team members in Seymour, IN. You will be expected to travel to this site location 2-3 times per week.

What We Do

Our Project Management team is crucial to the success of technical automation projects, ensuring they are executed successfully, on time, and within budget. We act as a key liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, and management, ensuring smooth project execution, objective achievement, and organizational value delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for overall project delivery, including cost, schedule, and quality for current project assignments.
  • Manage projects from site preparation through system acceptance, aligning with project objectives.
  • Oversee all schedules, procedures, and controls for assigned projects.
  • Serve as the communication conduit between the client and relevant internal parties, EPCs, and subcontractors.
  • Facilitate the identification and resolution of issues, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Drive lean-focused, continual improvement of new standards, processes, and procedures to streamline team interactions and communication.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and regularly communicate initiative status to teams and stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Conduct earned value analysis and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Review project status and monitor variances against scheduling and cost control reporting.
  • Lead weekly meetings (internal and external) to discuss project progress.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, construction management, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training in construction, automation, and material handling fields.
  • Experience with high-level scheduling, scope, and cost management of complex projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing projects across broad internal (business leadership, sales/solutions, hardware and software engineering, etc.) and external stakeholders (client leadership, general contractors, architects, subcontractors).
  • Proven track record of meeting project deliverables while remaining on time and within budget.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions while working under pressure.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Professional, detail-oriented, methodical, and organized.
  • Proficient with scheduling software and earned value management systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
