Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma and at least 4 years of related experience. Preferred qualifications include a certification, associate's, or bachelor's degree in HVAC, electronics, or engineering, along with 1 year of experience in field service, depot repair, or manufacturing facilities, servicing medical devices or laboratory equipment. Experience in customer-facing roles and working with basic test equipment such as DMM, tachometer, and temperature devices, including hands-on refrigeration experience, is preferred. The ability to operate computers, smartphones, and related software efficiently, along with the ability to work independently diagnosing and solving problems using schematics, diagrams, service manuals, and other technical resources, is essential. A valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required.

Responsibilities

The Field Service Engineer will provide comprehensive field service support and manage customer relationships for laboratory equipment. Responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining various laboratory equipment such as temperature monitoring devices, incubators, centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, and cryogenic storage units. The role involves working directly with customers to schedule visits, address concerns, and resolve issues. Additionally, engineers must complete learning assignments on time, read procedures, submit expense reports, and maintain spare part inventory. This position requires commuting daily to customer sites, with approximately 50% overnight travel required for servicing customers and attending training programs, potentially up to 75% travel in the first year.
