Requirements

Candidates must possess at least ten years of experience in a commercially-oriented account management or sales role within the employee benefits sector, with deep health plan design and benefits knowledge. Experience advising employer clients on benefits strategy and cost performance is ideal. A strong commercial and managerial focus, proven results in achieving Net Revenue Retention (NRR) and upsell targets, and the ability to build strategic relationships with brokers and enterprise client leadership are essential. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to articulate a vision, and problem-solving skills in ambiguous situations, along with a desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

The Director, Strategic Accounts will manage a team responsible for retaining and upselling Mid-Market clients, ensuring clients have an excellent experience and achieve expected results. This involves partnering with the team to become trusted strategic advisors to clients on plan design, cost trends, and plan performance. Key responsibilities include driving improved Net Revenue Retention and other KPIs across the client portfolio, collaborating with Account Management, and working directly with sophisticated clients to resolve strategic problems. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with Product, Data, and technology teams to demonstrate Garner's value and ROI through customized presentations.
