The Director of Content Marketing should possess 8-10 years of experience leading and scaling content marketing programs, demonstrating a strong track record of ownership across strategy, execution, and team development. They require strategic thinking with expertise in B2B buyer behavior, content marketing best practices, and digital trends, along with a deep understanding of Degreed’s target L&D and executive audiences, market dynamics, and competitive landscape. Expertise in building and scaling SEO and AEO strategies is essential, as is hands-on experience with AI content tools, CMS platforms, and marketing automation systems, combined with a data-driven mindset and analytical skills. Furthermore, they need experience leading internal creative teams and external vendors/contractors effectively, and a creative storytelling ability across multimedia channels.
The Director of Content Marketing will design, lead, and evolve a world-class content strategy to support Degreed’s brand visibility, product growth, and business goals, managing and scaling the editorial calendar across various channels including blogs, videos, and social content. They will lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team, execute and refine an SEO and AEO strategy, drive content operations through AI and automation, partner cross-functionally with multiple teams, maintain editorial quality and brand consistency, write and oversee the creation of high-impact assets, track performance, analyze trends, and experiment with emerging technologies to ensure measurable impact and continuous improvement.
