Candidates must be recent graduates of MHA, MBA, MPH, MS-POPH, or similar healthcare programs. Applicants must submit a cover letter, current resume, three letters of recommendation (at least one from a graduate professor and one from a current or former employer), a personal statement (1-2 pages) addressing career goals and the importance of population health management, and official graduate transcripts.
The DVACO Administrative Fellow will gain experience in population health management, healthcare business planning, and leadership through rotations in departments such as Care Coordination, Practice Transformation, Data Analytics, Post-Acute Care, and Clinical Quality. Responsibilities include undertaking projects in quality oversight, data reporting, performance improvement, physician engagement, informatics, network development, and contract/payer relations. The Fellow will also attend Board and administrative meetings, analyze quality metrics and financial performance, lead strategic planning, develop health equity strategies, assess practice readiness for behavioral health integration, create financial models for new payor contracts, manage IT software implementation, develop contracts, design patient identification strategies, communicate with physician practices about performance, analyze administrative costs, and lead the development of a quality benchmarking system.
