Candidates must have the ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls and possess an active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance. A requirement includes senior leadership experience within or with defense sustainment organizations, demonstrating a deep understanding of logistics strategy, acquisition pathways, and operational needs. Proven ability to drive business development and strategic partnerships in the national security or defense sector is essential, along with familiarity with advanced manufacturing, defense innovation ecosystems, and sustainment or modernization programs. Strong communication and translation skills are necessary to bridge conversations between engineering, operations, and policy communities, and a demonstrated success in working across teams and guiding programs from concept to execution in complex environments is expected.
The Defense Sustainment Portfolio Lead will develop and execute a tailored sustainment strategy identifying opportunities in contract and distributed manufacturing. This role involves cultivating relationships with key defense agencies and commands responsible for sustainment and logistics, such as the DLA, USTRANSCOM, and the Joint Staff J4. The lead will bridge Divergent's internal production capabilities with external DAPS deployment, ensuring integrated delivery across both lines of effort. Responsibilities include leading efforts to demonstrate mission impact through use cases and pilots, such as rapid spare part production or digitally native designs in contested logistics environments. Additionally, the lead will ensure DAPS tools and outputs meet defense-specific technical, logistical, and security requirements, including TAA, ITAR, and cyber-physical integration standards.
