The Clinical Sales Specialist (CSS) plays a crucial role in supporting TAVI clinical trials and commercial cases. This position is responsible for driving trial enrollment and conducting educational initiatives within a defined region. The CSS will work collaboratively with the Territory Manager (TM) to educate interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and hybrid OR/cath lab personnel on the safe and effective use of Abbott's TAVI products. The goal is to achieve best-in-class patient outcomes, advance clinical evidence, and grow commercial market share by demonstrating expertise in our TAVI clinical and commercial product portfolio, procedures, and therapies.

This position may be hired at different levels depending on candidate experience. This position may require travel exceeding 50% based on staffing and regional demands. The CSS will report to the Regional Sales Director and receive guidance on daily activities from the Territory Manager.


Responsibilities

This position is responsible for key TAVI clinical trial and commercial activities, focusing on technical and clinical expertise, training and education, and customer service. Collaboration with the Territory Manager, Regional Sales Director, and Clinical Lead Specialist is essential to advance market share and optimize the customer clinical experience.

  • Successfully complete internal training plans covering hemodynamics, ECG, angiography, echo, and CT imaging modalities.
  • Complete case support and proctor delegate authorizations.
  • Provide active clinical trial and commercial case support, aiming for excellence in procedural success rates and patient outcomes.
  • Scrub in sterile to provide TAVI valve loading during procedures and deliver training instruction to trial and commercial customers.
  • Perform CT valve sizing analysis for customers using the Pie Medical 3Mensio CT program.
  • Engage with trial sites and participate in subject selection committee calls.
  • Lead customer didactic education sessions to facilitate account activation prior to first implants.
  • Conduct pre-case planning and post-case debriefings with the heart team.
