Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or business, coupled with over 5 years of sales experience. A strong results-delivery focus, customer orientation, and self-motivation are essential. Proven strategic thinking for growth idea creation, a hands-on execution approach, and knowledge of local markets and competition are required. Experience with complex products and projects, high integrity, excellent English communication and negotiation skills, good analytical abilities, team spirit, and a willingness to travel extensively are necessary. Strong commercial and technical skills, particularly in gasification, along with sound analytical capabilities and commercial acumen, are preferred. Extensive working experience with a proactive, resilient, and self-motivated attitude, a proven business development track record under challenging conditions, and solid experience in developing major capital projects are vital. A strong customer focus, external mindset, proven ability to build customer relationships, and the capacity to translate strategic opportunities into growth plans are also required. Strong influencing and leadership skills are important.

Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager will engage, qualify, and develop gasification prospects into executed license and associated contracts, and liaise with the SOG team for gasification prospects. This role proactively develops gasification business opportunities primarily in Europe, the Middle East, and India, helping to drive the competitiveness of gasification technology. The position is accountable for meeting or exceeding order intake and P&L targets for the License team. Key duties include leading, identifying, engaging, qualifying, and promoting gasification licensing deals, interfacing directly with customers, managing new customer and product development activities, developing existing customers, and generating new service and equipment offerings. The role involves identifying and evaluating customer project needs, providing technical and commercial support, developing strategic growth ideas, reviewing RFPs, preparing offers, and supporting the commercial operations team. Accountability extends to the order process, margin delivery, and supporting customers with feasibility studies. The role directly contributes $4-7 million annually from licensing activities and involves engagement with senior external parties and government officials, as well as developing business for new syngas value propositions.
