Requirements

  • Experienced and passionate manager to lead the German Contract team
  • Knowledge and experience in writing bespoke contract terms and conditions to mitigate risk
  • Ability to undertake negotiations by phone or face-to-face
  • Capability to attend meetings with customers at national, regional, and hospital levels

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of the Bids and Tenders Team in the production of responses, management of customer specific pricing, and dealing with all forms of tender and contract queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Coach and develop the Contracts Team in matters of tendering and contracting to improve service, efficient production of tender responses, maximize opportunities, and mitigate risks
  • Provide support and advice to all business units in the preparation and submission of all tender responses
  • Co-ordinate and construct responses for specific high value or strategically important GPOs and tenders, providing recommendations and advice to Senior Management Team
  • Ensure the collection and analysis of competitive intelligence (prices, volumes, conditions) to increase success rate of tenders and offers, in collaboration with the legal department
  • Review, initiate, and follow-up on legal aspects related to commercial contracts in collaboration with the commercial organization
  • Write bespoke contract terms and conditions for specific projects using knowledge and experience to mitigate risk
  • Undertake negotiations by phone or face-to-face with the other party to achieve agreement and meet business objectives
  • Attend meetings with customers, including at senior level, from various organizations to discuss tender structures, undertake contract negotiations, discuss tender processes, and resolve contract problems
  • Develop systems and processes to optimize efficient project management and production of tender submissions
  • Develop systems and processes for the storage of all contract documents for ease of access
  • Coach and develop Baxter internal stakeholders of all levels and functions to improve understanding of tender processes, strategies, and implications of terms and conditions
  • Facilitate shared learning across businesses by using debriefs and other information to advise on latest procurement strategies, customer expectations, and areas of strength
