Workday Associate Engagement Manager

Position Overview

The Workday Associate Engagement Manager is a project manager responsible for supporting client, company, and team accomplishments. This role involves hands-on support for key project deliverables such as charters, project/staffing plans, and issue logs, while actively driving client engagement. The position requires communication and addressing of any budget or resourcing constraints, with a focus on project success and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in Workday's Implementation Methodology and apply it to all engagements.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Workday product suite, including HCM, Payroll, and/or Financials.
  • Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed.
  • Provide support to Engagement and Senior Engagement Managers on larger projects.
  • Collaborate with the client project manager to identify and resolve issues that could impact project scope and/or timelines.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within the budget outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Work with Delivery Assurance to ensure compliance with agreed-upon checkpoints.
  • Assist in the transition of the client from professional services to product support.
  • Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completion of their implementation.
  • Track issues and risks, communicate status, and escalate concerns regarding applications.
  • Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings.
  • Identify and escalate change orders when clients request tasks outside the SOW.
  • Participate in the sales cycle as requested to gather requirements, formulate delivery approaches, and develop proposals/SOWs.

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Previous Workday experience is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Internet technology and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • A practitioner background in HR, Finance, or Payroll.
  • PMP certification is strongly desired.

Salary and Other Compensation

  • Application Deadline: October 22, 2025
  • Annual Salary: $75,800 - $95,865 (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Incentive Program: Eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to applicable plan terms.
