Requirements
Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification (must be maintained in good standing)
In Florida, qualifier certification through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for retail propane oversight
Yearly certification for a forklift license (BJ’s covers applicable costs and training)
Strong business acumen through strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making
Leadership competencies including modeling change, effective communication, building high-performing teams, delivering results, developing talent, and displaying leadership
Ability to oversee recovery, utility, and Perishable departments (Produce, Meat, Bakery, Deli, Dairy/Freezer) as MOD, including overnight prep for clean, stocked, morning-ready conditions
Accountability for maintaining policies/procedures, delivering positive member service, ensuring Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) club conditions, audit compliance, collaboration with Business Partners, and onboarding/training for food safety/operational excellence
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction within the club, driving club performance while working closely with the Closing Manager
Oversee, as MOD, recovery, utility, and Perishable departments (Produce, Meat, Bakery, Deli, Dairy/Freezer), plus overnight prep to ensure all areas are clean, stocked, and ready for morning open
Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed, taking full responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and Member engagement during assigned shifts
Maintain policies and procedures, deliver positive service experience to members, and provide Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) club conditions
Assist in audit compliance efforts and drive collaboration with Business Partners (BPs)
Oversee onboarding, certification, and training to ensure food safety and operational excellence
