Position Overview

The Account Executive III is responsible for achieving sales and/or profitability objectives, from both existing accounts and new client prospects. Account Executives meet with clients and prospects to recognize opportunities and turn leads into long-lasting partnerships. With their extensive product knowledge and understanding of industry trends, Account Executives will communicate directly with clients and prospects, to understand their individual needs, and recommend products or services to help the clients attain their goals.

Note: The ideal candidate for this position will reside in the Central or Eastern Time Zone and be willing to travel primarily in the Eastern Time Zone (USA).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement: Meet in person with clients and prospects. (30%)
  • Prospecting & Lead Generation: Participate in a high level of prospecting activities: lead generation, qualifying prospects, discovery, and demonstrating solutions to prospective clients. Ability to manage multiple accounts while seeking new opportunities. (20%)
  • Sales Targets: Achieve assigned sales targets. (10%)
  • Account Management: Manage contracts and up-sell/cross-sell opportunities. (10%)
  • Relationship Deepening: Deepen existing client relationships—generating incremental business. (10%)
  • Consultation & Negotiation: Consult with clients on business issues and marketing program design. Ability to understand client needs, and negotiate costs and services. Resolve sales or delivery issues. (10%)
  • Collaboration & Proposals: Work with Strategists and Delivery Teams to execute project specifications and deliver quality results to clients. Develop insightful proposals and deliver strategic sales presentations. (5%)
  • Data-Driven Sales: Sell with data and insights. (5%)

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field (Preferred).
  • Combination of equivalent education & work experience will be considered.

Experience

  • Sales Quota: 7-10 years in a quota carrying sales role; demonstrated ability to close new business and manage relationships.
  • Marketing Disciplines: Experience with multi-channel marketing disciplines.
  • Industry Experience: Recent sales experience within a financial services vendor company; marketing discipline preferred.
  • Specific Skills: 1-3 years experience and proficiency required in Marketing, Media, Advertising.
  • Sales Techniques:
    • Selling through creating a compelling vision or story.
    • Use of data and insights as a selling tool.
    • Prospecting/new business development.
    • Managing client relationships.
    • Selling multiple/integrated product campaigns.
    • Understanding of the clients market and strategic needs to align and recommend the ideal solution.
    • Use of data and insights as a solution selling tool.

  • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel (50%).
  • Market Interpretation: Ability to interpret marketplace needs and translate them into products/services.
  • Adaptability: Adapt easily to change - including the market, products, and internal company initiatives.
