Virtuous is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead and scale its engineering team. The role involves driving innovation across four core product squads (CRM, Giving, Data, and Integrations) and overseeing QA and DevOps. This position requires a strong combination of technical leadership, strategic vision, and people management skills.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a VP of Engineering, Director of Engineering, or similar leadership role within a SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated experience in scaling and leading engineering teams.
  • Solid technical background with expertise in .NET, Microsoft technologies, and Azure.
  • Experience with CRM, data systems, or top-of-funnel technology is advantageous.
  • Experience in nonprofit technology is a plus, but not a mandatory requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale an engineering team of over 20 individuals within a fast-growth environment, managing multiple squads.
  • Cultivate a team culture that emphasizes collaboration, excellence, and ongoing learning.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of engineering leaders and individual contributors.
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Product & Design to co-lead the Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) team.
  • Partner with the Chief Architect to ensure sustained technical excellence.
  • Actively participate in architecture discussions.
  • Demonstrate enjoyment in mentoring engineers.
  • Exhibit a strong desire to foster a culture of humility, ownership, and continuous improvement.
