Requirements

Candidates must have a business mindset for strategic alignment, prioritization, and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit. A minimum of 5 years of experience leading engineering teams of 10+ people, preferably in fast-growth tech environments, is required. Proven success in building and scaling high-functioning teams with strong hiring and retention standards, along with experience in full-stack engineering, API-based products, and SaaS environments, is essential. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration are also necessary. Bonus points for experience in fintech, fraud/risk, or identity systems. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in and reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

The Director of Engineering will own the roadmap for API products, solutions, and operational capabilities, ensuring scalable, secure, and performant delivery. They will manage and scale an initial team of 12-14 engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, hiring top talent, and promoting high standards. Responsibilities include collaborating with product, data science, infrastructure, and executive stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals. The role involves implementing best practices for engineering workflows such as scalability, observability, incident response, and reliability. Driving innovative architectural decisions and platform evolution to support product differentiation and speed to market is also a key responsibility.
