Responsibilities

Customer Focus

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with store leaders and teammates, earning their trust and respect through experience and training.
  • Create confidence and excitement by teaching teammates to make meaningful selling recommendations that improve golfer performance.
  • Maintain master-level knowledge of the fitting process, products, selling and service techniques, and upcoming equipment technology innovations.
  • Drive sales activation and golfer recognition of Golf Galaxy and House of Sport as premier golf equipment and service providers.

Instill Trust & Build Effective Teams

  • Train store leaders and teammates on specialized selling techniques.
  • Collaborate with District Managers (DM) and General Sales Managers (GSM) to train and certify Master Club Fitters and Club Fitters on all aspects of club fitting, golf club services, and equipment technology.
  • Host territory conference calls with Store Master Fitters, including agenda preparation and partner participation alignment.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and maintain personal master-level training using company and vendor resources, and share this knowledge with store leaders and teammates.
  • Participate in regular visits with DMs to evaluate store performance, the strength of the fitting experience, and program execution consistency through observation.

Develop Talent

  • Work collaboratively with the Sr. Director, DM, and Store Manager/GGXY General Sales Manager to align on training and support teammate skill enhancement needs across their region/districts.
  • Plan, organize, and execute training and coaching for Master Club Fitters (SMCF) and Certified Fitters across their stores.
  • Ensure partnership with the GSM and DM is integral to teammate elevation.
  • Participate in monthly touch-base calls with DMs and GSMs to discuss training needs across districts/territory.

Entrepreneurial & Growth Mindset

  • Support store management in driving sales by providing an elevated level of service.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and coaching of teammates throughout the store and district.
  • Review prior month's performance metrics, including P&L statements, to raise awareness and build strategies for increasing sales, customer penetration, customer service/satisfaction results, etc.
  • Collaborate with peers to share best practices, identify training gaps, and strategize on narrowing performance gaps between top and bottom performers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in Club Fitting within Retail Golf or Green Grass environments required.
  • Golf Tech experience preferred, but not required.
  • GGXY Certified Fitter (Custom Fitting)
  • Callaway Fitter Certification & TaylorMade University
  • Level 1 & 2 Trackman University (exception to complete within 1 year of role attainment is available)
  • Passion for the Golf Industry, including trends, tours, and social media.
  • Demonstrated passion for continuous learning and coaching others.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
