Adventure Technology Services is a small IT contractor headquartered in Hanover, MD that provides high-level solutions to Federal Government customers and is always looking for high-quality professionals to join our team.

Position Overview

Position Title: System Administrator Level 2 Required Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph Location: San Antonio, Texas

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide in-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems.
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of, and configure network components, along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Support the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware.
• Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
• Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.

Required Technology Experience

• Linux/RedHat Operating Systems
• VMWare
• Experience with Active Directory

Education & Related Experience

• Required: 15 years of experience as a System Administrator (SA) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Required: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Substitution: Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

• Program placement
• Duties & responsibilities
• Internal equity

OVERTIME STATEMENT

40 hours is the standard workweek. Some programs may allow additional hours to be worked as needed. A limited number of programs have on-call requirements where compensation is provided for being engaged to wait. In all circumstances, technical employees will be paid for all time worked.

BONUS STATEMENT

All billable employees are eligible to earn quarterly bonuses that are based on the number of hours worked for that period. This hourly requirement is roughly 92% of hours available to bill in a given quarter. Quarterly Hours Bonuses are paid out on the same payroll as the time worked in that prior quarter (typically 21 days after the quarter ends.)
