Employment Type: Full-time Location Type: Remote

Position Overview

CrowdStrike is a global leader in cybersecurity, protecting the people, processes, and technologies that drive modern organizations. Our mission is to stop breaches, and we have redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large-scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day, with this traffic growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they rely on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe, and their lives moving forward. We are a mission-driven company that cultivates a culture of flexibility and autonomy, empowering every CrowdStriker to own their careers. We seek talented individuals with limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation, and a fanatical commitment to our customers, community, and each other. The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About the Role

The CrowdStrike Falcon Host is a two-component security product. One component is a "sensor," a driver installed on client machines that observes system activity, recognizes malicious behavior, provides on-box prevention capabilities, and sends remote telemetry to the Falcon Host cloud. The sensor processes thousands of events per second, offering deep visibility into endpoint operations and performing rich correlation and computation to identify and block malicious events. The cloud component aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer's network, correlates malicious behavior across multiple machines, and presents a prioritized summary of detected threats to customer operations teams.

This is a Senior Software Development Engineer II role within the engineering team responsible for delivering the lightweight agent (sensor) on Linux. Engineers in this team own the design and development of core platform features. These features will span most core OS subsystems, including file system, memory, process, and networking. Many features are also designed with shared components across Windows and Mac. The team operates under Agile development principles and ships frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Linux software for deployment on servers.
  • Own features from design through delivery.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams in various physical locations.
  • Responsively troubleshoot product issues reported by customers.
  • Undertake other assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to develop high-quality code in C/C++, demonstrable through job experience, schoolwork, or contributions to community projects.
  • Experience in Linux or Unix product development with the following characteristics:
    • High concurrency requirements necessitating strong multi-threading skills.
    • High reliability requirements.
    • Detailed requirements on low-level operating characteristics (memory usage, efficient performance, correct conformance to external standards).
  • Experience working on a team to ship major features and releases.
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a distributed team.

Benefits of Working at CrowdStrike

  • Remote-friendly and flexible work culture.
  • Market leader in compensation and equity awards.
  • Comprehensive physical and mental wellness programs.
  • Competitive vacation and holidays for recharge.
  • Paid parental and adoption leaves.

  • Vibrant office culture with world-class amenities.
  • Great Place to Work Certified™ across the globe.

CrowdStrike is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fostering a culture of belonging where everyone is valued for who they are and empowered to succeed. We support veterans and individuals.
