Support Engineer

Position Overview

Meter builds better internet infrastructure, making it exceptionally easy for any business to have great computer networking, internet, and Wi-Fi. We are hiring for our Support Engineering teams in our Bangalore and San Francisco locations to resolve issues end-to-end across Meter’s full stack, including wireless, wired, and security devices. This role is critical to Meter's accelerating growth and offers the opportunity to support diverse customers, from AI companies to retailers and universities. As an early member of the team, you will directly influence the shape and direction of Meter’s Support Engineering function, enhancing products and customer experience.

We are hiring for three shifts:

  • Shift 1: 1:30 AM - 10:30 AM PT
  • Shift 2: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM PT
  • Shift 3: 5:30 PM - 2:30 AM PT

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Wireless, Security, Firewall, and VPN escalations within Meter’s vertically integrated Network Operating System.
  • Quickly and efficiently resolve complex and varied issues and time-sensitive tickets from customers, owning the resolution from start to finish.
  • Maintain clear and thorough documentation for seamless transitions and knowledge sharing across the Support Engineering team.
  • Deliver high-quality root cause analyses for customers and internal Meter teams.
  • Monitor proactive alerts, initiate customer outreach, and provide timely triage and support.
  • Identify trends in support needs and create, maintain, and/or deprecate centralized playbooks.
  • Create design templates to streamline operational deployment and network installs.
  • Partner with Solutions Engineering and Operations to assist in configuration changes and documentation for new deployments.
  • Acquire and analyze wired and wireless packet captures to determine the root cause of issues.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on feature requests, bugs, and workflow improvements.
  • Work closely with QA Engineering to validate new backend, firmware, and UI features before deploying to customer networks.
  • Contribute to the support knowledge base by developing internal and external documentation.

Compensation

Meter offers a comprehensive compensation package including salary, equity, and benefits designed to support an ambitious culture. Benefits include in-office meals, thoughtful health benefits, and ample time off.

  • Estimated Salary Range (Bangalore): ₹1,670,600 - ₹4,176,500
  • Estimated Salary Range (US): $85,000 - $200,000

This role is eligible to participate in Meter's equity plan. The actual salary offer will be determined based on a careful consideration of skills, qualifications, and experience.
