Requirements

Candidates should possess a University/College diploma or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Systems Technician, or a related discipline. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience supporting end users, preferably in a Google Workspace environment, is required. Experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Windows, Apple, Android, and iOS devices is necessary, with Linux experience being an asset. The role also requires 1-3 years of experience troubleshooting end-user issues including hardware and software, proficiency with ticketing systems and cloud-based communication tools like Jira, Slack, and Google Chat, and familiarity with cloud infrastructure environments (GCP, AWS, Azure). Basic network troubleshooting skills and experience delivering high-quality customer service under pressure are also essential.

Responsibilities

The Service Desk Technician will provide end-user support, ensuring adherence to corporate security, hardware, and software standards. Responsibilities include triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving user requests and alerts from IT infrastructure systems, assessing cases, collecting data for resolution or escalation, and following up on tickets. Documenting ticket activities, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions is crucial. The role involves building trust between the user community and IT, reducing the frequency of common issues through employee education and knowledge base creation, and identifying ways to simplify IT service usage. Discovering and resolving inconsistencies with corporate standards and continuously learning IT processes and tools are also key duties.
