Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from a four-college or university and between 5 to 8 years of related experience and/or training, along with demonstrated networks with senior internal and external personnel in their area of expertise. Strong judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, excellent coordination skills, and a team player attitude are required. Candidates must also have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and experience with hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, as well as experience with software application use and installation.
The Service Desk Specialist III will resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways, providing routine software and hardware troubleshooting support to employees to resolve common IT problems. They will also maintain equipment inventory, processing RMAs and ordering new equipment, maintain physical presence at designated service locations, monitor and update tickets in a defined ticketing system, respond to tickets, contact users, and plan workload, escalate tickets as needed, sign off on closed tickets with the user to include follow up specifically to the end user, and support access to corporate network/wireless and applications both on the network as well as over VPN. Furthermore, they will perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing, and be able to use a computer, while also communicating effectively. Other duties as required will also be performed.
