Requirements

Candidates must possess 3-5 years of IT support experience, with a minimum of 2 years focused on security and compliance roles. Demonstrated experience with FERPA, COPPA, or ISO27001 compliance is required, along with strong knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably GCP. Proficiency in managing IT needs for distributed teams remotely, including Windows, macOS, and mobile device management, is essential. Excellent troubleshooting skills in networking, firewalls, and email systems, as well as strong written and verbal communication abilities for diverse audiences, are necessary. The ideal candidate is self-motivated.

Responsibilities

The IT Support Specialist will implement and maintain security controls for FERPA, COPPA, and ISO27001 compliance, conduct regular security audits, and manage identity and access management. They will develop and enforce least-privilege access policies, create security documentation, lead security awareness training, and coordinate with legal teams on data protection. Responsibilities also include providing remote technical support to over 400 team members, configuring school district IT integrations, managing Google Workspace and other SaaS environments, overseeing device management via MDM, maintaining IT documentation, and handling escalated technical issues. Additionally, the role involves monitoring application performance, managing feature flags, performing database operations, analyzing system logs, and collaborating with engineering on bug reports and technical investigations, with opportunities to automate tasks using PowerShell and Python.
