As part of our strengthening plan for our commercial sales team in Belgium/Luxembourg, we are seeking an experienced life sciences/diagnostics Sales Account Manager for our clinical customers. You will collaborate with dedicated overlay sales specialists, market segment specialists, field applications, and service engineers, managing established business and forging new customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Overall knowledge of the hospital market in Belgium for Sequencing opportunities.
  • Experience working with customers in both translational research and pathology accounts.
  • Collaborative, organized, and a strong negotiator.
  • Passion for genomics.
  • BA/BS or MS degree in Life Sciences; Ph.D. is a plus.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English languages.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Demonstrable experience in Life Science or Diagnostics sales or a related area.
  • Strong technical background in molecular biology.
  • Ability to work in a team is a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-value, long-term profitable customer clinical accounts through relationship-building sales techniques.
  • Identify and manage high-calibre sales opportunities through professional screening processes and information resources.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of prospects, including personnel, responsibilities, budgeting, internal politics, products, services, competition, and market.
  • Prepare and present compelling customer sales presentations.
  • Participate in all sales activities and assist with general customer demonstrations, training, and support.
  • Negotiate all sales opportunities within company established parameters and generate associated sales contracts and quotations.
  • Maintain desirable pricing levels through effective sales negotiation.
  • Coordinate and communicate sales activities and strategies effectively to supervisors.
  • Develop and maintain all account/contact details within Illumina’s CRM database and utilize it to monitor and direct customer purchasing activities.
  • Leverage the CRM system to grow sales from the existing customer base and expand into the assigned territory.
  • Provide regular and accurate sales forecast updates.
  • Create a territory business plan that satisfies goals established by sales management.
  • Effectively build a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline and manage necessary levels of sales leads, prospects, and opportunities.
  • Satisfy all product and technology training requirements as established by Sales management and the Training department.
