Position Overview
Join the Snowflake team and help solve our customers' most complex data challenges. As a Senior Solution Engineer, you will work directly with sales teams and channel partners to understand customer needs, strategize on how to best support them during their evaluation, and ultimately guide them to choose Snowflake as their solution. You will share our passion for solving complex data challenges and enabling organizations to maximize their data assets. This role requires a keen interest in learning and applying new skills to real-world problems, translating features and functions into business solutions for both technical and business audiences, from end-users to executives.
Responsibilities
- Present Snowflake’s Data/AI technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customers.
- Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementation.
- Create and develop technical champions in your accounts to drive deals and achieve a technical win.
- Stay at the cutting edge of Snowflake technology, confidently presenting Snowflake roadmap features and functionality to customers and/or prospects.
- Immerse yourself in the ever-evolving industry, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors, and positioning Snowflake effectively.
- Collaborate closely with other sales engineers to foster mutual growth and learn from successes and failures.
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake’s products and marketing efforts.
- Represent Snowflake at industry or customer events.
- Work with our ecosystem and implementation partners to build joint architectures and collaborate on account strategies and initiatives to ensure customer success.
Requirements
On Day One, we expect you to have:
- Extensive sales engineering/solution architect experience in a SaaS environment or relevant industry experience (analytics, data science, data engineering, etc.).
- Proven track record of delivering technical wins and building strong customer relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership and impact beyond your own accounts by uplifting others in your team or region.
- Outstanding presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences, comfortable with whiteboarding, presentations, and demos.
- Understanding of and experience with data architecture, data analytics, and cloud technology.
- Hands-on experience with SQL.
- Working knowledge of Generative AI (RAG, LLM).
- Ability to solve customer-specific business problems and apply Snowflake’s solutions.
- Customer-facing skills to effectively communicate our vision to a wide variety of technical and executive audiences, both written and verbal.
- Proactive contribution and co-development of account & territory plans and execution, engaging with the broader internal/external ecosystem.
- Strong market knowledge/awareness and ability to open doors by leveraging your network.
- Fluency in Dutch language (written and spoken) is required for this role.
Preferred (but not required) to have:
- Hands-on experience with Python.
- Experience working with modern data technology (e.g., dbt, Spark, containers, DevOps tooling, orchestration tools, Git, etc.).
- Experience with AI, data science, and machine learning technologies.
