Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 7 years of direct new business sales experience in the institutional financial markets, preferably in the NFC/Buyside space and/or with an information services provider
  • Proven track record and hunter type mentality with a strong desire to explore new opportunities
  • Strong ability to communicate with clients clearly with strong presentation skills
  • Strong personal integrity and a confident and positive manner
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; demonstrates drive, initiative, energy and sense of urgency
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment as well as independently
  • Direct work experience in the financial industry or information vendor industry in a new business sales role is highly desirable
  • Fluency in English/Chinese – written and spoken at a business level
  • CFA or CMA qualifications is a plus
  • Desire and flexibility to learn and grow in an ever-changing environment

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business sales in southern China focusing on Non-Financial Corporate and Buy Side sector
  • Carry an individual sales quota and primarily be responsible for selling Desktop, Data feed, and other new released products
  • Carry out client sales meetings, including ability to diagnose, design and deliver solutions for clients
  • Optimize revenue by prioritizing opportunities and engaging clients proactively through cold calling campaigns, marketing strategies, account planning with Relationship Managers, etc
  • Manage product demonstration and presentations, set up follow-up training sessions for new prospects/opportunities
  • Identify key decision makers and influencers with target prospects
  • Contribute to the business strategy through understanding key industry news, events, macro/market trends, regulations, competitive landscape; provide feedback to internal stakeholders on market observations and product enhancement
  • Develop and nurture deep relationships with client organizations, address their needs, maintain high customer satisfaction, including timely end-user problem resolution (technical, product or content related)
  • Solve complex problems; take a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Demonstrate mastery developing strong professional experience in a chosen discipline
  • Anticipate and respond to customer needs; assess requirements and identify solutions by modifying practices, procedures and business plan
  • Generate new contract documents, process sales orders and coordinate new deal process with product management, Legal, and Finance team
  • Utilize CRM system (Salesforce.com) to maintain opportunity pipelines, leads management, and logging of sales activities, meeting memos, etc
  • Report to Head of China Sales, D&R
  • Responsible for segment revenue growth in Southern China
